Kylie's Story
Kylie Rae Harris is a native Texan born in 1989 to parents who never played anything but the radio, but who LOVED Stevie Ray Vaughan (hence the middle name) and all the great classic rock, blues and jazz that are among the elements of Texas music today.  She grew up in a small town with her big sister and (later) step-brother and sister, playing rock star band like most kids across the country.   It was after her 12th birthday that she became "Kylie from Wylie."  Her mom thought vocal camp at the Wylie Opry as a birthday present would get "it" out of her system, but it turned out the young Kylie actually COULD sing!

Before long, Kylie was performing at Opry's and outdoor events on a regular basis.  When the family became active in the local church, her brother Jesse became the drummer and Kylie discovered her gift of singing harmonies.  The music minister had been a rock musician in the seventies, and under his tuteledge and with his son teaching her chords on the guitar, Kylie's musical skills began to flourish.

Kylie and the church band got to perform at Love & War in Texas in 2004, courtesy of Becca Dalrymple, and "blew it out 'the water" even though she was only 15 at the time.   Soon she was going to venues and meeting other musicians, including her own Uncle Scott Harris, who is a pedal steel player for Michael Hearne. (Great grand-dad played with Bob Crosby's Big Band).  Kylie spent her high school years blessed with opportunities to perform at some of Texas' best venues with some of the country's most successful musicians.  After graduating, she spent a year figuring out what really matters in life before getting her head and heart right for what God has in store for her.  Ready to go back at it in the fall of '08, Kylie spent a wonderful semester and a half at South Plains College in Levelland, then hit the ground running and is more than ready to do what she was born to do!
